That’s so awesome! What cute boys!! :)

I would like to politely note that if you do the same routine with Riley in the same order all the time, he gets used to it and it’s like steps in a dance. Meaning he doesn’t necessarily actually learn the commands. I mean, I’m not trying to be an asshole know-it-all or suggest that you and Andy aren’t fabulous puppy owners, it’s just a thought I had. :D

    Hehe, thank you!

And yes, we definitely mix things up all the time. That’s not even all his tricks. Andy just wanted a sampling for some personal introduction slideshow at work…

He knows all his commands except “clean up” (put your toys away) and “slow your roll” (stop acting like a psychopath, you cute crazy little dog). ;P

Yay! That’s awesome! It makes me so happy when people are actually good, responsible dog owners. (Which clearly y’all are.) I mean, your dog wants to make you happy and wants to do what you want him to do. It just takes a little while (and some work) for communication to become clear and all, which apparently lots of dog owners are unwilling to do. So pat yourselves (and Riley!) on the back! :)

Man. Now I really want a dog. Dammit!

Thankye! I had no idea you were such a dog person.

(And I must confess, I was NOT a good dog owner to my first dog. Andy and his family pretty much always were. But poor Yogi went to a family — i.e., me and my parents — who really had no idea what they were doing, and no time to do any better. :\ At least he’s fat and happy!)

Though I love Jane to pieces and she’s a golden cookie, I’m really and truly a dog person. I grew up with dogs and though we had a cat and a few here and there (They ran away or Carla gave them away.), I never bonded with any cat until Jane. Dogs have a special place in my heart. Caya (my first dog) will always be my true love.
