    Happy anniversary!

(Eventually, you’ll get to the point where the anniversary slips up on you, or you forget it entirely until you look at a calendar, but that can be good, too. It just means that you’ve built so many more memories together — good and bad — on top of that initial foundation. My parents were married for over 50 years, so I saw this in action.)

Many happy returns of the day.

Thanks so much, Anthony! I totally agree, re: probably forgetting someday, and that being a good thing. In fact, in our 10 years together, Andy and I have never really been ones to celebrate anniversaries, because we’re able to appreciate and honor each other in little ways all the time. But we did make an exception for this first year of marriage, and marked the occasion with a relaxing weekend getaway to a small town nearby. I’m glad we did, even though I don’t expect us to make it a tradition. :P

Happy Anniversary!!!!! (Since this isn’t going to be an annual event, I thought I’d give you a bunch of exclamation points now!!!) So if not anniversaries, what traditions do you plan to develop?

Lol thanks!!!!!! ;) I think we’ll always do a little something for our wedding anniversary — even if it’s just a card or going out to dinner. But our bigger tradition is probably our vacations. We aim for 1 domestic and 1 international per year.
