Hobbledy hobbledy

I think this is the longest I’ve gone without blogging in years… Completely unintentional, mind you! I have plenty to say, I just can’t seem to get around to saying it.

Normally I think apology posts are pointless/silly — and maybe this still is — but I wanted to explain.

1) I was traveling last week. To Houston to see my parents, with a side trip to Dallas to see my aunt. Lots of driving, and one frustratingly delayed flight. Not a lot of internet time.

2) I got back on Monday and was planning to blog that night. But then I slipped and fell while walking Riley. Several dizzy spells, one compression brace, and a couple ice packs later, I suspect I may have a sprained knee. :(

So please excuse me while I hobble around — literally and figuratively — for a bit.

  1. Oh noes!!!!!! I’ll bring you some arnica. It will help with swelling, bruising, pain.

While you’re sitting around, you should write a book or something. ;)

  2. Dizzy spells? Sounds like more than a bum knee. Better have that noggin checked out, too.

Not that I have any medical qualifications, of course. :-)

    Take care of yourself.

  3. Sorry to hear that.. Have you gone to the orthopedic doctor? I think you have to undergo x-ray. It’s bad if your ankle swollen for days. It hurts!

  4. Thanks for the concern, guys! Don’t worry, I didn’t hit my head. The dizziness was just my reaction to the blood/pain. I’m kind of a wuss that way. :P (Even reading about intense pain can cause me to get lightheaded…)

Haven’t gone to a doc, because there’s really no more pain and there was never any swelling, but I’m doing R.I.C.E. and just generally trying to take it easy. The improvement seems to be good, but if it’s still an issue next week I’ll go see someone.

  5. Not good, not good at all except for the part about no swelling. Heal quick and tell Riley to catch you next time ;)

  6. There was blood? I’m so sorry. I hope you feel better soon. On the upside, I’m pretty sure a sprained anything means you don’t have to do the dishes.

  7. Oh, get well soon. I’m too excited to hear about your travel visiting your parents and aunt. For sure, you’ve got lot’s of bond with her. Be safe darling.

  8. Julia-
Not from my knee, which is the real problem. Blood on my foot, which got scraped up when I fell.

I’ve still done some dishes, but Andy has been fairly helpful/accommodating. :)

    Prudence-
    Thanks!

  9. Hi Kristan! I hope your knee heal quick. Just take care of yourself always.I’m looking forward on your next post!
