Hiii! {waves} Didja miss me? The cruise was lovely, thanks for asking. I’ll blog more about it later this week, but suffice it to say, there was an expected detour, lots of stingrays, and a little bit of sunburn.
There was also NO internet (well, expensive internet I wasn’t willing to pay for — same diff) so I spent all Saturday and Sunday catching up on emails and blogs. Apparently I overdid it, though, because now I have a shooting pain in my wrist and have to wear my brace again. Ugh.
But anyway.
I’d like to thank my guest bloggers one more time. Sarah, Sonja, Rachele, Erin, and Natalie — y’all rock! Thank you SO much for taking care of my blog (probably better than I do, haha). I really appreciate it.
I also want to thank everyone who commented, and made my lovely guest bloggers feel welcome. Y’all are da bomb dot com!
(But of course we knew that already.)
Last but not least, the winners of my shameless comment bribery are Joelle and Scott! (Yes, two winners. I’m shameless AND sneaky, booyah.) They both left very thoughtful comments, and not just once, but on multiple posts.
Their prize for being consistently thoughtful and responsive is… a free book! Since we’re all readers/writers, I figured that would be most appropriate. Plus I’ve been inspired by Larramie over at The Divining Wand, who is simply wonderful about spreading book-love.
So, Scott will receive Crossing by Andrew Xia Fukuda, and Joelle will get How to Buy a Love of Reading by Tanya Egan Gibson. Enjoy!
Scott, can you email me (khoffman at gmail.com) with your address? Joelle, I’ll see you next week at writing group, hehe.

Yeah I don’t really do thoughtful most of the time ;)
Glad you had a good time, and really I might have paid for the internet because I can’t live without it…
Glad to hear you had a nice trip!
Hope you had a great trip! Welcome back!!
So glad you had a great time on the cruise, despite the detour and sunburn. And you know, maybe not having the internet was a good thing … it gave you the chance to fully relax and take some time out for you. Playing catch up after you get back is always exhausting, though!
Wow! Thanks so much, Kristan. Your blog is always a good read and last week’s “replacements” were equally stimulating. :)
Yay! Glad you’re back. Stingrays? They freak me out–I think it’s the “sting” part. Speaking of creepy, and since I am just blabbering, there was a HUGE spider on my back deck this morning and I walked into him. Got a bunch of web on my face. He seemed pretty frightened, too, all huddled and clinging for deer life to my jeans. I did a bit of a dance, and now I don’t need coffee to wake me up. :)
Les-
Pssh. It’s not that you’re not ALL thoughtful. I just awarded the MOST thoughtful of last week. (Plus you just got a new puppy. I know how that goes. No real brain function for at least the first couple weeks. :P)
Sonja, Kimberly, Shari-
Thanks! And yes, haha, catching up is the bad part. It always makes you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation, you know??
Scott-
Aw, thanks!
Sarah-
LOL you are too funny! The stingrays were actually very sweet – sort of cat-like, honestly. They rub up against your legs, and they’re only interested in you if you have something they want (i.e., food).
Thanks, the book looks very interesting. Hope the sun burn wasn’t bad. Where did the detour take you, did you find any stories in it? And will you be posting pics of the cat-like stingrays?
Haven’t done the cruise thing yet, but I’m guessing my report would also include a little bit of sunburn. Glad you had a good time!
Joelle-
Detour took us to Key West (instead of Grand Cayman) and nooo… not really any stories… but yes, I will post pictures of the stingrays!
