Hmm, haven’t had one of these in a while…
- First up: Erika Liodice. Erika runs a great blog about getting “beyond the gray” — beyond the things that are separating you from your dream. I had the great honor of being interviewed by Erika about my recent decision to pursue writing full-time. (She called me a “Dream Chaser,” I love that!) Wanna head over and leave some love? Please? OKUROCKTHX!
- Second: The awesomely titled blog Blood-Red Pencil featured 10 simple but solid steps to a better story. #7 and #8 are my faves, although #10 is probably the most valuable.
- Last but not least: the lovely T.S. Bazelli wrote a little piece on “this tangled jungle” we call writing and inspiration. Guaranteed to make you smile.

Hmm, I wonder how much difference there is between the importance of story and character? I guess I’m hoping not much because character is so much easier for me to develop than story!
You’re a crazy person and I admire you for it!
Oh I’m so guilty of #9, there’s a list of words I keep falling back on, and I need to weed them out.
Speaking of weeding… Thanks for the story shout out :D
“KH: Do it! Trust me, it’s both that simple and that complicated.”
Love this SO much :) I know I’ve said it before, but I so admire you for doing this. You’re inspiring!
Thanks again for sharing your story with us, Kristan. I wish you lots of success as you follow your dreams!!

Sonja-
Oh pish. You’re good at story too.

LOL thanks! I hope I don’t prove to be TOO crazy…
T.S.-
Me too, but I’m learning to be harsh with myself/them in revision. All my “just”s and “then”s come out!
Shari-
Thank you!!
Erika-
Thanks for having me over at BTG. It’s such an inspiring blog!
That’s a great interview….and I’m loving the blog! Thanks for directing us to it!
I read your interview in Beyond the Gray and I wish you all the luck in the world! So happy that you’re taking this chance.
Thanks so much, Shannon!
Thanks for sharing the links, Kristan. I LOVE #8. Best advice sometimes. If you can say it in three words, why write fifteen?
Great interview–keep going with your dreams. I have full faith!
